Die Wald Liste is an invocation for the woods. It’s a performance inspired by the 1000 words from the word Wald (woods) from the German dictionary by Grimm Brothers. Die Wald List is a spoken song for the trees, for the moss, for all the animals, for the air, and for all the sounds that belong to the woods we should preserve. It is an invocation, and at the same time a dialogue of love. As biologist, philosopher and nature writer Andreas Weber writes, “ecology and love are strictly connected. Only with this deep interconnection can we relate to it, understand it and save it. At the moment we have failed to find a way to reduce carbon emission and energy supplies. Paradoxically, scientists are looking for life on other planets, while we are unable to protect the very nature that surrounds us and make us alive.
